Three axis define my life aspirations and professional experience: media, sustainable development and innovation, and I try to overlap them as often as possible.
Why media?
I was born in a family that has been involved in and has evolved with media for generations. From magazine publishing, through radio and TV, and into the new trends on the web that are re-shaping the media landscape.
media stuff:
- reporting on “indignado” movement in Spain for Cronica TV (15-may-2011) (Spanish)
- article “From the #SpanishRevolution to Democracy 2.0 on La Crónica de Hoy (20-may-2011)
- conversations on #citizenjournalism (feb-2012) (Spanish)
Why sustainable development?
I grew up in Mexico, a country with deep social and economic contrasts that developed in me a drive to change and improve how the world works. This drive took me from experiences in several non-profit projects around the world to an MBA at IE Business School, and a specialization in Social Entrepreneurship.
Why innovation?
After winning the Thunderbird Sustainable Innovation Challenge in 2007, I discovered innovation as the engine that drives real positive and long-lasting changes in a company or a region. For the last three years I have been working as an innovation consultant at a very dynamic company called everis, with experiences in regional development projects in Spain and Latin America.
projects on regional development:
- Transforma España Initiative, analysis of Spain’s “value creation” and proposals for transformation. Involving interviews with more than 100 key business and intellectual leaders from civil society. (Madrid 2010)
- Transforma Talento Initiative, a spin-off project of Transforma España, aiming to propose a comprehensive model for talent development and management in Spain, combining public and private efforts, backed by interviews with more than 200 key national and international leaders and experts. (Madrid 2011)
- Transforma Chile, national innovation system analysis in Chile (major agents, country value creation model, areas of improvement and policies – including an enterprise innovation certification program) with the Ministry of Economy and a public/private foundation. (Santiago de Chile 2009)
- Regional development analysis (academia, industry and government) and proposal of policies and platforms for regional governments in Spain. (Andalusia, Catalonia, Galicia and Madrid 2008-2009)
